Lorraine M. Prondzinski
Lorraine M. Prondzinski of Stevens Point, died Sunday, March 9, 2015 at the Portage County Health Care Center, Where she resided the past three weeks.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Shuda Funeral Chapel-Stevens Point. A Bible Vigil will be prayed at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 – 10:15 AM at the church on Wednesday.
Lorraine was born on April 2, 1922 in a farm house in the town of Stockton, to Dominic and Bernadette (Formella) Kluck. She attended elementary school in a one room school in the Polonia area, where her mother was the teacher. In 1934 her family moved to Stevens Point, where she attended and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1940. She enrolled in classes at Stevens Point Vocational School, taking clerical courses.
On June 3rd, 1944, she married the one and only love of her life, Roman J. Prondzinski. The marriage was blessed with four children; Sandy, Terry and twin daughters, Debbie and Denice. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
In 1941 she went to work for Hardware Mutual (Now Sentry Insurance). She retired from Sentry, after 30 years of employment in 1985. After retirement, she became involved in volunteer work, at St Joseph’s Parish, Ministry St. Michaels Hospital and Portage Co. Food Pantry Program.
In earlier years she enjoyed bowling and bingo. Most recently she enjoyed reading, word search, puzzles, trips to the casino and time shared with family and friends. She was member of the Anns Society of St. Joseph and the Post #6 Auxiliary.
Lorraine is survived by her son Terry (Sue) Prondzinski, daughter: Denice (Ernie) Bielen. Grand Children: Brooke (Kevin) Gehlhausen, Michigan, Heather (John) Skibba, Rosholt, Chad (Jodi Stroik) Bielen, Casey (Jessica) Bielen, Amanda Bielen, all of Stevens Point and Ryan (Amy) Bielen, Hatley. Great-Grandchildren; Isaac and Audrey Gehlhausen, Kelsey and Kaylee Skibba, and Noah, Seth and Zach Bielen. Sister-in-law, Bernie Prondzinski and Sister-in-law, Betty Kluck. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roman in 1995, daughters Sandy and Debbie, granddaughter Alison, her sister Ernestine Andrews, brother Don Kluck, sister-in-law Vern Kluck and step father Bill Harrell.
