Frederick Hytry
Frederick “Fred” Hytry age 67, of Stevens Point passed away Saturday morning May 16, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Fred will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM on Tuesday until the time of service at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Fred was born January 7, 1948 in Stevens Point, the son of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Hojnacki) Hytry. He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1966. Fred married Janice Zick on June 12, 1971 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their three daughters. Fred worked at Consolidated (now New Page) for over 45 years until his retirement in 2011. He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and spending time with Jan playing bingo and the slots. He was very involved with his grandchildren’s lives and spent time at countless softball, volleyball, baseball and soccer games, dance recitals, cheer competitions, and wrestling tournaments. He was truly an inspiration to so many, especially his 3 daughters.
He is survived by his wife Janice; their daughters: Jenny (John) Lake, Stevens Point; Jill Hytry, Stevens Point; Jessica (Mike) Pichler, Baraboo. 6 grandchildren: Berkley, Brayley, and Braxton Lake; Jayden Hytry; Talan and Emma Pichler. His sister: Marcy Wisniewski, Stevens Point. 2 special nieces: Katie and Kara. His mother-in-law: Jeanette Zick.
