Margaret "Rita" Raschka
Margaret “Rita” Raschka age 71, of Stevens Point, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and under care of Heartland Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish in Custer with Father Roy Witucki officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point. The St. Mary's Altar Society of which she was a member will lead a Rosary in her honor at 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral chapel. Visitation will also be held Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass at the church.
Rita was born April 29, 1945 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the daughter of John and Ann (Tinsley) Kane. She met Chester Raschka in England while he was serving his country in the United States Air Force. The couple married on September 25, 1965 in Bedford, England. In the fall of 1965 they settled at their current address in the Town of Stockton and raised their family. Rita became a United States citizen in 1998. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she was an inspiration to all of them.
Rita is survived by her husband of 51 years, Chester Raschka Sr. Her three children and daughter in law: Chester Raschka Jr, Stevens Point; Mary (Arron) Pulchinski, Custer; John (Bonnie) Raschka, Stevens Point; Tracy Raschka, Stevens Point. Her seven grandchildren Chester Thomas, Sherry, Yuki, Rachel, Nathan, Isaac and David. Her siblings: Ann, Ronnie, Patricia and Eileen along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Wayne and her daughter Diane.
The family thanks everyone for their support as Rita battled cancer. Thank you to the medical professionals at Aspirus and Heartland Hospice for the care they provided.
