Obituary for Isabelle Lishman

Isabelle "Izzy" Lishman, age 82 of Stevens Point passed away February 17, 2017. She was born November 30, 1934 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Antone and Clara (Lazarowicz) Charneski . She was 100% Polish as you can probably tell by the last names. She was one of 7 siblings: Edmund Charneski, Irene Iwanski, Phillis Bluma, Harriet Piotrowski, Marion Konkol, and Anthony (Bobby) Charneski. She was a graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School and later married Donald "Pappy" Lishman on Sept. 21,1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. They had four children: Debbie (Lishman) Oksiuta, Mike Lishman, Patricia (Lishman) Cierzan, and Jimmy Lishman. Together they owned "Pappy's" bar in Custer and she later worked in house keeping at St. Michaels Hospital until her retirement in 1999. She had 10 grandchildren: Kevin Oksiuta, James Oksiuta, Ryan (Oksiuta)Manning, Erin (Oksiuta) Godley, Maggie Cierzan, Roy Cierzan, Julie Cierzan, Rachel Lanham, Chris Lishman and Ben Lishman as well as 17 great grandchildren: Benjamin,Thomas, Jayce and Preston Oksiuta. Skyler, Savannah and Sawyer Manning. Jayden and Brenden Godley. Sabastian Conley, Mya Conley, Gabby Stephens, Brennen Stephens, Lana Sommer, Zachary Cierzan, Lilly Sommer, and Ayla Lanham.
She was preceded in death by Donald, Jimmy, Kevin, Edmund, Phyllis, Harriet and Marion.
She also had a good sense of humor and was notoriously frugal. When they raised the price of hard rolls at the grocery store to 33 cents she asked the baker "What the heck did you make them with, gold?!?" I also believe she returned a can of beans one time because they had "too many stems in the can." But that was our grandma. :)
After retirement she would spend her time helping family whenever they needed it and loved visits from her grand kids. She was an exceptional cook and baker as well. Oh how I will miss her banana bread, meatballs and spaghetti and cherry torte. Thank you to to ALL the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living for their sincere compassion and help. They cared about her right to the very end. Finally, may you Rest In Peace Grandma. No one deserves it more than you.
Love, your family.
Per her wishes, private family services will be held. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.shudafuneral.com
