Felix J. Garski
Felix J. Garski Jr, age 76 of 10387 E. Tree Lake Road in Rosholt passed away Wednesday evening at his home with his family at his side, and under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.
A mass of christian burial for Felix will be at 11:00 AM Saturday March 6, 2010 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Rev. Marcin Mankowski will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The American Legion Post #509 Rosholt of which Felix was a member, will have a ritual at 6:30 PM and the General Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM, both Friday evening at the funeral chapel. Visitation will also be on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
Felix was born November 29, 1933 in Stevens Point, the son of Felix and Clara (Koback) Garski. He attended local schools and later married Delores Singer on October 1, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church- Torun. He entered the U.S. Army on Oct. 23, 1956, in Milwaukee. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, and was honorably discharged on July 22, 1958, at Fort Lewis, Wash. The couple settled in Stevens Point, and later moved to the Rosholt area. Felix owned and operated Garski Refrigeration while also working at Foremost Foods, until retirement in 1991. Felix enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards, and spending with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Delores; their four children: Lonnie Garski, Stevens Point; Randall Garski, Rosholt; Russell (Anita) Garski, Rosholt; Karen (Chuck) Zdroik, Rosholt. Seven grandchildren: Kelly, Nathan, Evan, Logan, Aubrey Garski; Kyle and Quin Zdroik. One great grandson: George Garski. Two sisters: Loretta (Norbert) Singer, Shantytown; Delores (Ray) Hoppa, Custer. Brother-in-law: Clarence Skierka, Stevens Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jerome and one sister Gladys Skierka.
